Thisten was a mobile app that made live speech accessible through real-time transcription at conferences and events. Designed to support people who are deaf or hard of hearing, Thisten addressed a common accessibility gap by turning spoken words into live, readable text on attendees’ phones.
I led the product, interface, and user experience design, shaping how live speech could be captured, displayed, and shared in a way that was inclusive, unobtrusive, and easy to use in high-pressure, real-world environments. The project explored accessibility not as an add-on, but as a core design principle for live, shared experiences.
